In this final installment in the series, Brad Peppo talks about preaching and how being an outward-focused church plant affects preaching. (You can find this whole series with Brad here: Brad Peppo Series)
Questions for Discussion or Thought:
1. Brad essentially says that after his first book focused on the core group (Ephesians), he then expects for the 2nd book to be particularly accessible for those who may be visiting and new to Christianity. What does that say about the expectation and mentality toward outsiders visiting?
2. Brad’s final comment about having a group that everyone is in the church because they want something to happen in that place…..what does that tell us about core groups for a church plant? Not that you can or want to tailor to this group or that, but what does it say more broadly about how we might cultivate that group and what mentality could be instilled in them? How would you achieve that?
3. How does your preaching fall on the scale of having certain segments to address unbelievers’ questions and way of thinking? How do you make sure you are speaking in terms and ideas that make sense to them and address their real questions, not what we might think their question is?
4. How could you improve your preaching to unbelievers? Do you have a model you listen to occasionally to help you?
