Before you watch this video and read this post: STOP for just a moment and think about one thing: Have you heard the objection from Christians who are against having creeds and/or confessions? “No Creed but Christ” is a common contemporary way to put it. How have you heard that objection answered? Maybe you yourself have answered it before…how?
We came across an interesting video on Facebook from OPC Pastor Paul Viggiano (Branch of Hope, Torrance, CA). Take a couple of minutes and watch. And we encourage you to compare what Paul says to how you may have heard this objection answered?
Does Paul say or do anything that makes his answer more engaging or winsome to the person who may have the objection? Is there anything in how he answers and how he talks that might connect well with the person asking the question?
Think about Paul’s words and manner. You don’t have to be Paul, but what could we learn about how to helpfully engage questions and objections?
Is 'No Creed but Christ' a Creed?
