It’s been 3 months since the wider release of Outward OPC, initiated by the New Horizons feature article (March New Horizons). Your response as a community is very encouraging to us.
We are about to share a couple of numbers, but not because we think this is all about numbers. But some numbers tell us about how this project is going.
In 3 months, there have been about 1,500 unique visitors to the site. We have 400 subscribers to the weekly email list. And there have been a combined 7,000 total reads of the collective posts on the site. So, what does that mean? We think it confirms that there is a hunger to be more effective at connecting with and reaching people, and there is a desire for practical tools and helps to educate and encourage us in that effort.
The top posts on the site confirm that even more clearly as they are some of the more practical, hands-on, how-to posts. Here are the top 3:
An Unintentional Unwelcoming Welcome (573 reads)
Eric Watkins On the Frontlines Video Part 1 (436 hits)
Conversation That Opens Doors & Hearts (the follow up to #1 above) (396 reads)
The number that’s probably most important to us is that we have heard from about 100 of you, our readers. You’ve given us feedback and input. You’ve told us what you think the greatest challenges are to evangelism. And you’ve started to tell us what you are doing as individuals and churches and what you are learning. We are always excited to hear from you! We are not just saying that. And we take everything you tell us seriously and make notes and factor it in to future content. So keep it coming!
Based on the clear feedback showing interest in practical, how-to kinds of content, we have a lot more of that coming immediately. This summer we will feature a new series that gives practical examples about how to be more effective and helpful for visitors.
In this brief update post, we wanted to give you a feel of how things are going, and to say thank you for reading, listening, and watching. Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback and interaction. We look forward to hearing from more of you and more from you.
