Here is the next installment of our interview with Eric Watkins. This can be viewed as stand alone, but it’s building on previous segments (Part 1 || Part 2).
Today, Eric gets very practical with thoughts and examples on how to be more welcoming to visitors and helping them enter into a new world of church life.
Questions for Thought/Discussion:
1. Do an audit of your Sunday: What things do you currently do specifically to accommodate newcomers into this new world they are entering?
2. Recognizing that it is a new world and some things must be different, are there things you are asking visitors to do right away that rightly take time, training, and discipleship for them to get? What could you do to accommodate them in any non-essential areas?
3. What is your primer for visitors that briefly helps them understand a bit of what to expect? Do you have one? If you are a leader, have your members ever heard you explain briefly what you would tell visitors before they arrive?
